Jill Garrett has been a Melbourne resident for the past ten years, and it is here that she discovered her love for coastal art. About eight years ago, she created her first pieces using glass and resin, and since then, she has developed a variety of techniques, especially in using hand-cut glass to add texture and dimension to her paintings.

Jill, the owner of Barefoot Art Glass Studio, has been an exhibiting artist at the Melbourne Art Festival since 2021; she will be in booth 161 at this year’s festival. The 41st Annual Melbourne Arts Festival will be held on April 25 & 26th at Wickham Park, however this could unfortunately be the event’s final year.

The Melbourne Art Festival is 100% volunteer-run, but they are facing a critical shortage of volunteers this year. Over the years, too many volunteers have retired without enough people to take their place. Without a renewed wave of support, the festival will not be able to continue in future years.
