What’s New
Go behind-the-scenes to meet one of the Zoo’s most powerful animals: the American alligator. Participate in a training session while you learn more about these legendary reptiles. If you prefer a more slow-and-steady creature to encounter, the Zoo’s radiated tortoises are ready for a snack and shell scratch from guests. Book these special encounters ahead of time as they’re offered while warm weather holds for our reptile friends.
If you’d like to encounter a more warm-blooded critter, the Zoo also offers specially ticketed encounters with sloths along with opportunities to feed giraffes, kangaroos, stingrays and birds.
For an even more exclusive experience, consider booking a private guided tour ahead of your visit. Zoo guides will tailor the hour-long experience to highlight the area or animals of most interest to you or your group! You’ll get the inside scoop on Brevard Zoo.
Head to BrevardZoo.org/Visit to learn more on all of these adventures – and to book ahead!
Who’s New
The Zoo welcomed jaguars Khan and Lua to their Rainforest Revealed area. Their moves are the result of careful planning by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ (AZA) Species Survival Plan, a program that pairs animals in AZA-accredited organizations to ensure a genetically diverse safeguard population. The Zoo hopes little jaguars are in the near future!
Speaking of babies, five young Nigerian dwarf goats now call the Zoo’s Barnyard area home. Guests can visit Baguette, Biscuit, Biscotti, Bagel and Brioche the goats and offer them a pet.
Looking Forward
The future Bowen Aquarium, a sister campus to Brevard Zoo, is in the works! Sitting on 14 acres of shoreline at Port Canaveral, the Aquarium will capture the beauty and benefits of natural Florida while serving as a regional conservation hub with an emphasis on restoring the Indian River Lagoon and our coastal estuary.
This space will be a new home for the important conservation, education and volunteer work that Brevard Zoo has been leading for years and provide needed medical and research facilities for rehabilitating sea turtles.
It will help educate and empower half a million people a year on how to preserve our natural resources and inspire the next generation to become environmental stewards.
