LENT: “The Slowing for Grace”

Every year, the season of Lent invites us into something our hurried world rarely encourages—slowing down long enough to notice what is happening inside us. Whether or not you observe Lent in a formal way, this season offers a gentle invitation to pause, reflect, and rediscover what truly matters.

One of the most beautiful images in Scripture is the wilderness. It’s a place where distractions fade and essentials come into focus. Jesus spent forty days in the wilderness before beginning his public ministry. He didn’t rush. He didn’t multitask. He listened. He prayed. He prepared. Lent mirrors that journey, inviting us to step away from noise and toward clarity. Lent Is about making space—space for reflection, space for healing, space for hope.

Grace meets us as we slow and he is at work, shaping us in ways we may not yet see.

May this Lent be a time of renewal for you. May we discover again comes from walking in Lent with God.  Join us or your church for ASH Wed service at 6pm, MAUNDY Thur service at 7 pm, and Easter services at 7 am (sunrise outside) and 10 am (traditional).
